This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Pre-K to fifth grade students are from the Palm Springs area. They are from culturally diverse families with various incomes. They are expressive, optimistic, and creative students.
Their exposure to life's challenges has taught them resilience and strength.
The students' social and emotional learning supports their community and gives them the opportunity to cope, learn, and thrive.
The student's empathy and compassion for one another is evident within the school, and gives me hope for a better future for them and the world.
My Project
My students interact with a variety of stressors in their lives. With the games and tools I've selected, my students will be prepared to face life's challenges head on!
With the items in this project, students will be able to identify and explore their emotions, understand how to use a variety of personal strategies to support their self-management and interactions, and build on their knowledge of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
My counseling classroom will serve as a safe, calming place for students to learn fun ways to reduce their anxieties and worries, allowing them to create more friendships and a stronger community.
