The pocket translators will be a time-saving boon for both myself and my students during our communications. Currently, we rely on tools like Google Translator in class, and I personally use various online translation websites to aid my students who speak different languages. However, continually switching between these tools can be cumbersome, especially when students need to express ideas or seek clarification.
Introducing pocket translators into our classroom environment promises to streamline these interactions.
It will enable me to engage with more students efficiently during class and foster a more comfortable atmosphere for students to communicate with me, knowing they have access to immediate translation assistance without relying solely on English.
Moreover, incorporating tools like the pocket translator aligns with my commitment to learning alongside my students. By embracing resources like the book "Teaching English to Spanish" and the pocket translator, I demonstrate to my students that I am dedicated to expanding my language skills just as they are.
Currently, I have students speaking a variety of languages in my classes, including Spanish, Haitian-Creole, and Portuguese. I aspire to grasp enough vocabulary in each of these languages to better support my students' learning journeys.
