My Project
My preschool special education students here in Maui have delayed development in the areas of early literacy skills, fine motor skills, and pre-academic skills. Most of them lack exposure to early literacy activities such as books, puzzles, print awareness, alphabet knowledge, and print development. Many of their families do not have the access to these materials that their children need.
The materials in this project will give my students the access to materials and learning activities to improve their development in early literacy, pre-academics, and fine motor skills.
I will be able to send home the learning activity kits, magnetic drawing boards, lacing beads, flashcards, puzzle boards, alphabet workbooks, and activity bundles to students homes who don't have access to toys or materials for learning activities. It will allow parents to expose their children to early literacy, pre-academic skills, and fine motor skills. The jewelry kits, alphabet lacing beads, and magnetic boards will allow me to work on improving students fine motor skills.
