Supporting Little Learners!

My students need craft materials, books, cleaning supplies to fight germs in a pre-k class, and a jellyfish lamp for calming purposes for little ones.

My Students

I teach at a pre-k through 8th grade Title 1 school in Virginia. Our school serves a very diverse population which includes a high military population, immigrants, a high Hispanic population, French students who are enrolled in the NATO program, a high transient population, and I could go on and on.

Our pre-k students in particular were chosen for our pre-k program because they and their families were going through many hardships and these students are considered "at-risk students".

Our pre-k students greet us daily eager to learn and excited about what their school day will bring. Since our pre-k students learn best through hands-on activities and experiences, we would like to provide this for them.

My Project

The items listed are just a very small portion of what I personally purchase yearly for my students. The supplies are used all year. Cleaners and wipes are constantly used to try to keep our pre-k class germ free. My students love to paint and create so bird houses and picture frames are used for crafting. Books about Chinese New Year and Mardi Gras' are included as we learn about and celebrate other cultures.

Living in our town, our motto is "Life Celebrated Daily" and that is exactly what we try to do in our class.

My students are always excited about learning and celebrating something new. I am always excited to see just how much they have learned and of course, to celebrate that learning. We are also asking for a jellyfish lamp for a calming area in the classroom.
