Supporting Literacy With Snacks

Help me give my students snacks to encourage them to seek after-school support and promote morale.

My Project

Since the pandemic, I've been providing my students with snacks out-of-pocket to help them stay motivated during this trying time. This year, many students are back to having to pay for school lunch and breakfast. The snacks have helped them to open up, get started on assignments, and stay positive. The snacks help mitigate the hunger some of them are experiencing and promote SEL by serving as a starting point for having conversations. The snacks also encourage my students to stop by during the day to chat about how everything is going. At these moments, I'm able to offer support through encouragement, suggestions, or clarification. Help me continue to give my students snacks for a small pick-me-up during the day. It can make all the difference!
