Our students are extremely respectful, diligent, and eager to explore the world, whether it's close to home or far away. They love working together in teams with their classmates and frequently step up to take on leadership positions to assist each other. Moreover, every student brings their distinct cultural identity to the classroom community and uses their expertise to help us better comprehend the educational assignments we tackle on a regular basis.
Our students enjoy exploring their own reading interests.
The students are interested in staying updated about current events and learning about diverse cultures from around the world. We believe that reading chapter books about students of their age group who have brought about positive changes in their community would give them an insight into what is possible for young agents of change. Hence, the objective of this project is to equip our students with the skills to identify issues or problems in their community that they would like to change. After identifying the problem, the students will create a plan of action that outlines how they will go about making that change. They will conduct research to identify the people they need to connect with for help. The students will write a report and develop a public service announcement to raise awareness about the problem and share their recommendations for a solution. Finally, the students will present their work to a live audience. Students will be given the choice to work either in groups or independently. They are free to use any mode of presentation they prefer. Each of the novels being used in this project contains instances of students taking action to bring about a positive change in their community. Students are encouraged to stand up for their beliefs and advocate for change.
