This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have an eagerness to learn despite over half of them coming from homes of poverty! Many come from homes where books, basic school supplies, and even available adults to read and study with, are luxuries they don't often get.

Despite the many obstacles my students face, they work hard, ask thoughtful questions, and willingly take the risks required to try, fail, and ultimately learn!

Given a safe learning environment, differentiated instruction, and appropriate tools, my students will overcome obstacles and succeed!

My Project

Please help my students grow as readers by providing them with a variety of quality books to read in class and at home. Many of the books in my class library were sent home with students during the remote learning that took place during the COVID-19 outbreak. Sending books with students is essential, as many of them do not have access to quality reading materials at home.

Your donation will help replenish my library with quality, leveled books that students need to grow as readers.

This means students will have access to leveled books that will meet their unique needs. Having quality books at a reading level a student can read and understand is critical for students to not only increase their reading ability but also their love of reading.

Your generosity will help my students by providing them with books they can read independently and as part of guided practice. By having a variety of books--classics, fiction, nonfiction--at different levels to choose from, will allow each learner to find books that interest them and that they can read and enjoy. Thank you for helping make it possible for my 2nd graders to learn an essential life skill and grow a love of learning!
