My Project

In an effort to continue providing my elementary students with a music education that is representative of their interests and identities, I am looking to stock my classroom with more culturally-relevant music books. This will primarily benefit my Pre-K through grade two students.

With approximately 85% of my students identifying as students of color, it is my goal to ensure my curriculum and the resources I use with my students recognize and celebrate the complex and intersecting identities of my students.

Everything from the content we teach to the visuals we decorate our classroom with can either positively or negatively impact our students’ learning, and adding these items to my classroom will undoubtedly contribute positively to their learning.
