Because of you, my second graders now have access to supplies that truly meet them where they are—academically, socially, and emotionally. Many of the materials you donated are especially supportive for my autistic child and other students who benefit from structured, sensory-friendly, and hands-on learning tools. From the moment the supplies arrived, they were immediately woven into our daily routines. We use them during literacy centers, math rotations, and independent work time to help students stay engaged, regulated, and confident. One moment that truly stood out was during a reading block when a student who typically struggles to focus was able to complete an entire task independently using the new materials. Seeing that sense of pride and calm was a powerful reminder of how impactful the right resources can be.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the donated supplies, their reactions were filled with excitement and curiosity. There were smiles, gasps, and so many questions about how and when they would get to use everything. For my autistic child in particular, the materials brought an immediate sense of comfort and predictability. Tools that support sensory regulation, organization, and visual structure made the classroom feel safer and more accessible. These resources have helped reduce frustration and anxiety, allowing students to focus more on learning and less on managing overwhelming feelings. I've noticed increased participation, longer attention spans, and more positive peer interactions. Students are more willing to take academic risks because they feel supported, understood, and successful. Your kindness has helped create a classroom environment where differences are honored and every child feels capable.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our next steps are even more exciting. We will continue using these materials to strengthen foundational skills in reading, writing, and math while also building social-emotional learning into our daily lessons. The supplies will help us expand small-group instruction, individualized learning plans, and inclusive practices that benefit all learners—not just those with identified needs. My students are beginning to see learning as something that fits them, rather than something they have to struggle through. That shift in mindset is invaluable and long-lasting. Your donation did more than provide supplies; it sent a message to my students that they are seen, valued, and worthy of investment. On behalf of my entire class—and especially my autistic child—thank you for making a meaningful difference in our classroom and for being part of our learning journey!!","fullyFundedDate":1759002591868,"projectUrl":"project/i-am-a-teacher-what-is-your-superpower/9724752/","projectTitle":"I am a Teacher.
