This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Simply put, my classroom and students need support for the upcoming school year.

The abrupt disruption and dismantling of the Department of Education means that schools like mine are facing severe budget cuts—cuts that will most impact the most vulnerable children in our country.

It’s a heartbreaking reality. I will not have a classroom budget next year. Like many other educators, I will now have to turn to private donors for financial aid to help enhance my students' education.

This upcoming school year, I am determined to push my students’ literacy even further. A set of high-quality world history books and materials will help them develop both literary and critical thinking skills. Books in the classroom play a vital role in strengthening education. They expand vocabulary, improve reading fluency, and deepen comprehension. Books also spark analytical thinking as students explore characters, viewpoints, and problem-solving within stories. They encourage curiosity, promote independent learning, and foster classroom discussions that build communication and reasoning skills.
