Our high school students in advanced art are passionate about their work, but our classroom lacks the proper seating to support their creativity. We have drafting tables, but not enough stools to go around, forcing some students to stand and others to sit uncomfortably on stools that are too low. As a Career and Technical Education art class, having access to industry experiences, tools and equipment is crucial to the curriculum.
Unfortunately, our current funding sources do not allow us to purchase any furniture, leaving us without a way to provide the needed seating.
As a Title 1 school, our students are used to going without, so we must do what we can to rectify that. With your help, we can create a more dignified and comfortable workspace where our students can fully immerse themselves in their artistic projects.
