it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our film program is very new and we have extremely limited resources. We serve a very large population of economically disadvantaged families and we also have a very large population of students with special needs. We need your help to make our young filmmakers prepared for future careers in the film industry by providing them every opportunity to use actual tools of the trade.
My Project
I teach film making to grades 6-8. My students are extremely creative and I am always surprised by their resourcefulness. When creating films, they will bring old Halloween costumes for use in their projects, they will edit and film on their phones and even bring in toys from home in order to create their stop motion projects. It would be wonderful if our class was equip with additional film making tools such as proper lighting, sound and tripods so that they can practice and grow as young filmmakers.
Our film program could really use your help.
My students have created stop motion films, documentaries, silent films and even Public Service Announcements while filming and editing on their own phones or school provided smart tablets. Our major challenge for our young filmmakers is camera stabilization and professional lighting and sound. Tripods, proper lighting and professional sound will help our students with their future projects and also provide them a richer experience while learning the film making process. This donation will make a difference for my current students and for future students of my course. Thank you for your support!
