This year, I’m teaching Art, Yearbook, Drama, and Film for students in grades 6–8. My students are incredibly creative, and I’m constantly amazed by their imagination and resourcefulness. When making films, they bring old Halloween costumes for props, use their phones to film and edit, and even bring toys from home to create stop-motion projects. It would be wonderful if our classroom were equipped with additional filmmaking and stage tools—such as tripods and sound equipment—so that my students can continue to practice and grow as young filmmakers and performers while working with the real tools of the trade.
