Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every morning with start our day by saying "Good Morning," along with a handshake.
At the end of the 2016 school year, I would like to see my students share all the exciting and new things they learned in third grade.
"I never lose. Either I win or I learn."
I have 24 unique third graders.
This group of students love to talk. So we take extra time during our day to hold discussions. Each child shares something special with the class. Our school is a tight-knit community surrounded by leadership, pride, honor and respect. We love that our school is surrounded by beautiful mountains of the desert.
My Project
My students need four CD players with rechargeable batteries. Our literacy is called Daily 5. There are five literacy groups happening at once. The listening group is very hands-on with technology. The CD players are used to listen to passages and practice fluency, accuracy and comprehension. Students love this because it incorporates technology and is hands-on.
Your donations will help my classroom because you're helping a child learn to read.
Not all learners learn at the same rate. Auditory learners need someone reading a story to them in order to comprehend what they are reading. Using the CD players will give them an independent way of learning how to read.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
