My Project
In our self-contained preschool classroom, we support a group of incredible young learners, many of whom are autistic or have complex communication and sensory profiles. Each child brings a unique way of experiencing the world—and for many, that includes differences in how they process sensory input like light, sound, movement, and touch.
Sensory regulation is not a luxury; it is a foundational need for learning, engagement, and connection.
Some of our students seek deep pressure, textures or movement to feel calm and focused, while others need quiet corners or gentle tactile materials to avoid becoming overwhelmed. Our goal is to create a classroom environment that meets students where they are, honors their sensory needs, and celebrates their strengths.
By donating, you will help us provide sensory tools and calming spaces—such as fidget materials, poppers, spinners, and tactile items—that empower our students to regulate their bodies, minds and fully participate in classroom life. These tools are not about “fixing” behaviors; they are about respecting neurological diversity and creating the conditions where every child can thrive, communicate, and learn with dignity.
