This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the reading coach at King Chavez Academy of Excellence. Donors Choose has impacted our entire reading intervention program with materials, resources, supplies, and amazing books. I work with students in TK/Kindergarten up to 5th grade.

I continue to seek out new books that will motivate them to keep going and not give up on the reading process, which has been challenging for them.

I need stools for my guided reading group in my semi-circle table. I am hoping to get more books of high-interest, especially for older readers who need extra support with foundation skills. I also hope to get special prizes for our incentives program, "Cheetah Bites" in which student work hard to earn points and accomplish their goals.
