Help me give my students the experience of a classroom from my home by helping me get the resources I can share as images with them to supplement their instruction and the technology I need to support them.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are part of a community school in a majority low-income community. Many require supports to learn, which has been increasingly difficult to provide since online learning began. I have a large number of students with IEPs as well as a group of ELL students (some of whom are first in their family to even use a computer!). I do not have any of my usual classroom supports (tiered for different level learners and ELLs) at home... only a copy of my textbook. I do not have access to my classroom now and I did not anticipate for the school year to have to continue online for the rest of the year :( I would really like to have the ability to share more resources with my students online but I need access to them at home.
My Project
Since we moved to online learning, my students often struggle with accessing the classroom remotely as well as having access to specific materials they are used to having available in class. I would like to have the ability to share some resources with my students online (as all of my class materials were left behind in my classroom, to which I have no access at the moment).
I would like to have some pertinent books at home that I can use to supplement the textbook information and provide differentiation.
I am also requesting help with obtaining a Chromebook to support my teaching. I am currently using my personal laptop (which my child also needs to learn remotely) and I do not have a well-functioning additional device to use for work. Thank you for your support!
