Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Equity is not automatic in a classroom it is something that we must create and implement in our own classrooms. Flexible scaffolds allow students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. The TPT gift card will help provide equity in my classroom for students who need differentiated assignments to help all students accomplish the task for the day.

Many of my students have attention deficit disorders and a host of other learning disabilities that make it difficult for them to engage and pay attention for long, periods, of time.

This is where the fidgets and snacks will help to break up the tension and bring some relief to my students. It will allow them to take short breaks, refocus, and get back on task.

The snacks allow me to set up an award system with the incentive being snacks and treats of your choice for completing your assignments, engagement, being helpful, and a host of other reasons to receive a snack. One more important reason is when a child comes to me and tells me they are hungry or thirsty. Your snacks are just what they need to get through the rest of the day, or their only means for substance that day.

Although my students are all different in their unique, sort of way, each one of them has something to bring and share. Each student should be given that chance. By supporting this project, it will allow each child to feel supported, understood, and loved. When our students feel like that there is nothing they cannot do.
