Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our maker space needs replenishment with more lanyard string, clay bead craft supplies, custom button materials, and another sticker mosaic due to their high popularity and frequent use. The sticker mosaics, in particular, are extremely popular among students. Additionally, we need book stands for book displays to encourage reading and make our library more inviting. We also aim to introduce Rubik’s cubes and a book about them as a new item to inspire problem-solving and critical thinking. The long-term goal with this would be to eventually create large-scale mosaics using multiple Rubik’s cubes.
These materials and tools are essential for fostering creativity, hands-on learning, and a love for reading among our students.
They also provide students with a much-needed mental health break from a day of learning. My goals are to continue increasing media engagement and fostering a sense of community within our library.
