Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every student deserves to feel welcome and comfortable in their school community. Our students of the LGBTQIA+ community should feel that they do not need to hide anything about themselves or the struggles they experience. We want all students to know that their voices are valued.
The stickers, pins, and flags will help us to create an environment that welcomes all teenagers from the moment they step into the school building and will also allow all of us in the school to show our support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The books will help us to empower LGBTQIA+ students by providing them access to books about people and scenarios that they can relate to. They will also allow us to educate the rest of the community, both students and adults, on how we can support and educate others about the struggles and needs of the LGBTQIA+ community, both in our school and well beyond our school walls.
