it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are the changing faces of America! Most of our students are first-generation Americans. With over 90% of our school receiving free or reduced-priced lunch, the need is there.
As a Title I school in East Las Vegas, our students need your help.
Our school is the first and only college prep charter school in East Las Vegas. Our students work rigorously during our extended year and extended day school. However, the success of our school revolves around the people. The teachers, students, families, and donors like you, make this school reach the levels some would see as impossible!
My Project
Every teacher hopes their students will become successful in life. For many, success means attending college, graduating, and having a career. Advanced Placement (AP) courses allow students to get an early taste of college along with college credit if they score high enough on their exam. However, AP courses end in early May, leaving me with six weeks of opportunity to prepare my students for the real world.
Our students need financial literacy resources to excel after graduation.
This project includes magazine subscriptions that will give students a stronger grasp on financial literacy and will complement the curriculum we will be using on saving, checking, taxes, paying for college, budgeting, credit, identity theft, and investing.
