it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Printing and copying are essential daily activities for elementary school teachers. I rely on printers to produce engaging worksheets, hands-on activities, assessments, and personalized learning materials. Currently, our school has 500 students and provides only one printer that is accessible to all teachers. That printer is often occupied, sometimes jammed, and not in the same building as my classroom. My students would benefit immensely from having a printer in our classroom. A printer supports creativity, enhances learning with visual aids, and ensures students get timely resources for assignments and projects.
Our elementary school serves a community of predominantly first-generation families.
Our school meets the Title I criteria, and 99.8% of the students we serve come from low-income families. My 4th graders are inquisitive, enthusiastic, bilingual, and in some cases trilingual students, all of whom are English learners. There is a wide range of language abilities and academic needs in my classroom. Therefore, I need to provide numerous levels of support and differentiated activities. Having a printer readily available would help ensure my students have the resources they need, when they need them.
