This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a very talented and diverse group who are energized to learn and continue learning how to play their instruments. Our school places the performing arts high on its priority list because of the positive impact that they can have on students' academic and social lives. These students want to grow as musicians and attain a high level of performance. Help my students reach their full potential in band and orchestra by having instruments that work. Anybody who has ever had a car or other equipment that didn't work well knows how frustrating it can be. Help us make music!
My Project
With these various PVC materials, we'll be able to make a cello and a bass rack to protect our instruments. Currently, students have to sit their instruments on the floor which causes unnecessary wear-and-tear to them along with the added risk of their instruments being stepped on. Having racks will also allow our instruments to need fewer repairs, meaning students will have a better playing experience; which is why I'm requesting PVC Pipes, elbows, and fittings to build racks. These racks will also allow our students to take ownership of the program and push each other to perform at a higher level. They are enthusiastic about learning to play a stringed instrument and this will only fuel that enthusiasm as we take our orchestra to the next level!
