My Project

My students LOVE a good graphic novel or manga. They're by far the most popular sections in our library. Often I'll have one student check out a whole stack of them, only to come trade them in for more after a week or two! While I can get some of these books with sturdier binding, many of them are only available in paperback. Students will apologetically turn in a paperback book with a torn or folded cover, but the truth is it's only natural for heavily-used books to get damaged over time. Even with care, the average paperback doesn't hold up to being read a great many times.

I want our books to be read again and again, passed around friend groups, and devoured by eager readers for years.

The Demco EZ tape applicator will help me quickly and easily apply professional grade book tape to spines, giving extra support to hundreds of books. Demco's "xtreme" book covers will help the most popular books hold up to the kind of heavy use only seen in libraries. The cutting tools will help me efficiently apply the covers, and the wire easels will help securely display our books between checkouts without doing damage to their spines.

Together, these tools will help our paperbacks last through checkout after checkout for future readers to enjoy.
