Save our class! We need supportive materials to continue academic excellence! Do you remember what it was like to have information and became more excited because you were able to see and touch it? Do you remember when your teacher could not help you because they ran out of materials?
We are an urban school that are comprised of many high poverty students.
We have many motivated students that are eager to listen, touch, and think. We also have students that need all the resources to help them be excited about learning so that we can help to reach their potential. Often times, we are frustrated especially when we see the challenges we face and simple support materials can enhance the students learning but, we do not have them!
My Project
We are requesting rock collections to enhance the study of rock formations. Nothing beats touching and smelling something students have only heard about! We are requesting post it pads to enhance group work and classroom discussions. Students learn to use critical thinking skills when each group walks around and gives their critiques of what each group wrote. We are requesting magazines to encourage real life connection to the knowledge they are gaining to excite them about knowledge and learning!
Your donations will make many little inroads to pave ways for students to learn.
All the materials requested are requested to increase students ability to grasp important concepts. Often, students that come from poverty stricken areas need extra help to envision certain concepts; especially when they do not have any point of reference to compare it to. Your donations will ensure ALL children will learn.
