Support Male Dancers in the Classroom!

Help me give my students proper dance wear for the male dancers in the classroom.

My Students

Dance is their chance to have an outlet during the school day! We are lucky enough for our students to take dance three days a week, and it is amazing what it provides. My students love music, movement, and self-expression. They are eager to take risks and love performing.

Most of our students enter into this program with little to no dance experience, but a love for the art form.

Through this program they are exposed to all dance forms and begin to understand and embody the etiquette of a dancer.

My Project

Through our dance department we are able to provide our female students with proper leotards and tights. Our male dancers are small in numbers, but passionate about dancing and looking for a "real" dance experience. Our male dancers are currently wearing their gym uniform in dance class. Providing proper dance wear creates an authentic experience for our male dancers. It separates PE class from dance class and supports that they are just as important as everyone else in the room. It is always hard to get young men into dance classes and providing proper dance wear is a simple gesture that can lay a strong foundation.
