My Students

Our school is a diverse school with students who come from different backgrounds. We are also a Title I school in Brooklyn with a large ELL population with over 1,300 students. In my fourth grade ICT classroom, about half of my students are ELL students, which consist of mostly Bengali, Spanish, Cantonese, and Arabic speakers. I also have eight students with special needs, speech impairment, and learning disabilities.

Each of my students brings something different to our classroom.

We work as a team! We learn from one another and help each other grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

My Project

My students need a class iPad, case, and a screen protector. As a Title I school in a low-income community, we are given limited resources especially in technology. We tend to shift our focus on using funds for supplies, books, and other materials that our students cannot afford.

With an iPad in our classroom, my students will be able to practice various skills in different content areas through interactive apps and educational games.

Most of my students, being ELL students and special needs students, are visual learners and will benefit from using the iPad as a resource for learning. My students will also have the opportunity to use the iPad to research and explore topics for activities and projects. They will be able to enjoy learning, as well as have fun as they use the iPad.

The donations to my project will allow students to learn through fun and interactive games, which can serve as an additional source of practicing different skills.

All my students will benefit from the educational apps and games that can be downloaded to the iPad. The games and apps can reach the needs of each individual through the different levels appropriate for every student.
