Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
New tables are urgently needed for our classroom that serves students with disabilities, many of whom require specialized seating and adaptive furniture to support their learning and physical needs.
The current tables are worn, uneven, and not wheelchair-accessible, which not only poses a safety risk but also hinders inclusion and equal access to education.
Our school is located in a low-income area with limited funding for facilities improvements, making external support essential to provide our students with the tools they need to thrive.
Additionally, new headphones are crucial for students who rely on assistive technology and audio-based instruction—many of our current headphones are broken or lack proper noise-cancellation, making it difficult for students with auditory processing disorders or focus-related challenges to stay engaged. Investing in these resources will directly impact students’ ability to learn in a comfortable, inclusive, and supportive environment.
