Support IHS's First Annual Unified Pickleball Tournament

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Over Spring Break, I took some of my Special Olympics Athletes from our high school to an Adaptive Baseball Clinic. We had a blast! The sponsor of our clinic had just hosted a Pickleball Tournament and had a huge box of leftover towels with Pickleball printed on them and a box of Pickleball medals (bronze, silver, and gold). To my surprise, he asked me if I could use these and of course, I said yes! The generous sponsor then donated these sweat towels and medals to IHS! You can imagine how ecstatic I was and the wheels started churning about how I could now introduce Pickleball to my Special Olympics Athletes at IHS. IHS already has competed in several Special Olympics Sports, winning 4 State Championships in the past 2 years: 2024 and 2025 Flag Football, 2024 Track & Field, and 2025 Basketball. Each year I try to add a new sport, with Bowling and Tennis being the most recent. Now, as the Head Coach of Unified Sports, I can finally add the very popular, fast-moving game of Pickleball!
It is my goal to host a Unified Pickleball Tournament for our students, with each doubles team being comprised of a Unified Pair (students with and without disabilities) and compete for First, Second, and Third Place Medals.
All participants will receive a Pickleball sweat towel. Since I already have the towels and medals, all I need are the Pickleball portable nets, paddles and balls, which is what I am requesting in this project. The tournament would be an awesome event with building teamwork and fostering incredible friendships, while making memories that could last a lifetime!
