Have you ever left the house forgetting breakfast and think, “I can make it until lunch?” For many of my students, their next meal is never a guarantee. Over 50% of students at my school are food insecure, meaning a stable food source is highly unlikely.
Not only as their teacher but as a community member invested in their comfort and well-being, I know how important it is to ensure a stable food source.
While snacks are not full meals, it is a gateway to staving off hunger that can impact their physical, mental, and emotional development. I am seeking community support to make sure the only hunger our students know is based around learning and gaining new knowledge.
