Our students are in need of academic, social and emotional support. This is an alternative school which offers best chance for students who could not perform well in their regular school. Our students need lot of academic support because of their academic gaps build over years.
Our student can perform well, provided appropriate academic support is available through different resources.
My Project
The Elmo document camera will allow me to meet the needs of small group and individualized teaching. With the document camera, I can design better Math lessons virtually and in person, for my students with special needs. Our students need to see examples while I am doing them and this document camera will assist me show more qualitative examples. Without this projection of examples and practice problems our students are at disadvantage.
Students directly can use the document camera to share their projects with classmates.
This sharing information helps build confidence and growth mindset in Special Education math class.
Now more than ever, it is important that students project their work and talk about their Math critical thinking with their peers. This prepares my students with special needs who are in middle school (the most important age) to talk confidently and share their STEM ideas and get ready to face challenges of real world projects.
