Support Behavior Through a Positive Incentive System
Help me give my students exciting prizes and activities to reward their positive behaviors! Legos and lounging are a big favorite for these students, as well as tactile and sensory items which meet their sensory needs.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Hello, friend! My classroom is third through fifth-grade cluster special education, meaning that my students spend their entire day in my classroom. My students are bright, passionate, and are always excited to learn. We need your help to provide materials for our positive behavioral incentive system (PBIS). Our PBIS will include our students earning points throughout the week that they will then use to "purchase" prizes or spend time on different activities. PBIS systems have been research-proven to increase positive behaviors will decrease negative behaviors.
As inquisitive learners in special education in an under-resourced school, we are not currently able to provide adequate prizes and activities for our PBIS.
My goal for our students behavior is that we can encourage their positive, pro-social behaviors, and reward them for making safe choices, and self-regulating. Social emotional learning is one of the biggest aspects of my students' learning, and with your help, we can create an exciting PBIS for all of the students.
My Project
The materials including in our list will provide students the opportunity to "buy" activities and prizes during free time, and at the end of the week at the "school store." Providing positive behavioral support systems support each student's learning, and encourages them to make healthy and safe behavioral choices.
By donating to our PBIS fundraiser, you will be providing activities and prizes to 11 students that will reward them for their excellent, safe, and healthy choices.
