My Project

This project will enable me to provide more effective math intervention lessons to my middle school math students. I am a math interventionist, so having a small group table will help me better assist students during our intervention sessions. Being able to write on the dry erase surface of the table will make showing their work more fun and exciting. Students prefer writing on a dry erase surface because it is considered 'lower risk' than using paper/pencil. Having math manipulatives like decimal blocks and algebra tiles available, will give students a bridge into learning more complex middle school math concepts.

The pandemic has caused many gaps in learning, and math is an area where it is crucial to address those gaps quickly and effectively.

My goal is to provide support through real-world math problem solving experiences, and make math 'come alive' for these hard-working students. This will greatly help support these aspiring mathematicians reach their full potential.
