it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I’m reaching out to share an exciting and heartfelt opportunity: the launch of a brand-new Intensive Behavior Intervention (IBI) classroom at my school, designed for middle school students with significant emotional and behavioral needs. This classroom is more than just a space, it's a lifeline. It will offer students a safe, structured, and compassionate environment where they can learn, grow, and begin to thrive.
IBI classrooms provide targeted, individualized support to students who benefit from more intensive intervention than a traditional classroom can provide.
Through personalized instruction, behavior support plans, consistent routines, and a trauma-informed approach, we help students develop the academic and social-emotional skills they need to succeed in and beyond school.
As we are starting this unit from scratch, I am seeking donations to help provide the essential tools that will make this program successful. Items currently in my cart include:
•Flexible seating to support movement and self-regulation
•Special lighting to create a calming, sensory-friendly environment
•Snacks for our positive behavior reinforcement system
•Storage solutions to secure and organize materials in our limited space
These are not extras, they are critical supports for students who need an environment tailored to their unique learning and behavioral needs. Our school serves a low-income community, and many of our students face daily challenges outside of school that most of us can’t imagine. With your help, we can give them the consistent, caring space they deserve.
What makes this work meaningful to me is my students themselves. They are resilient, creative, full of potential, and often just need someone to believe in them and give them the right tools to succeed. This classroom is more than just a job to me it’s a calling, and these students are at the heart of everything I do.
