Having their basic needs met allows them to participate more confidently and consistently.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the snacks and water bottles, they were excited and grateful. Many expressed appreciation right away, and some were visibly relieved to know there would be something available for them if they were hungry or thirsty. This not only strengthens their understanding of scientific concepts, but also allows them to take pride in their work as they showcase their learning in a creative and engaging way.\r\n\r\nThe snacks you provided also play an important role in our classroom. Something as simple as having their own pencils, paper, and binders made a huge difference in how they approached their work. Instead of worrying about borrowing supplies or going without, they were able to focus fully on learning. Many of them took pride in organizing their binders and keeping their notes in one place, which has already helped improve their confidence and independence in class.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using these resources daily in our lessons. For example, during our Algebra activities, students are working through multi-step problems, showing all their steps, and keeping organized notes that they can refer back to when preparing for the end-of-course exam. I've noticed that students are more engaged, asking more questions, and staying on task because they now have the tools they need right in front of them.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stood out was seeing students who would usually hesitate to participate become more involved simply because they felt prepared. Having their own materials removed a barrier and allowed them to fully engage in the lesson.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these materials to build strong study habits and prepare for upcoming assessments. They are currently working on review activities and practice tasks that will lead into more focused exam preparation. These resources are not just helping them complete daily assignments, they are setting them up for long-term success and helping ensure they stay on track to earn the credit they need to graduate.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools and confidence to succeed!","fullyFundedDate":1745596876623,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-student-success-request-for/9037966/","projectTitle":"Empowering Student Success: Request for Essential Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Abarca","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9156461_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778188231216","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9156461"},{"teacherId":8098217,"projectId":9772022,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for helping me transform an office with a desk and empty bookcase and turning it into a sensory friendly environment for the students, myself, and so many staff members who enjoy stopping in. For many of them, this is their first time learning any kind of fiber art. Crochet has become a calming, confidence‑building way for them to start their afternoons — and they absolutely light up when they see their projects take shape. The room gets filled with quiet focus, gentle conversation, and proud little celebrations when someone masters a new stitch.\r\nWhat has surprised me most is how quickly this project became about more than yarn. Students who don't usually take risks in academics are suddenly eager to try, make mistakes, try again, and help one another. They are so proud of their progress, and they love the idea that the things they create will one day be used to bring kindness to someone else.\r\nThanks to you, these students have a meaningful creative outlet, a new skill, and a place where they genuinely enjoy learning.
