Help me give my students materials that are not generally provided to my classroom. I am very blessed with teachers who will share their own materials' with me; but, I know they need their materials too.
I am a Special Education Inclusion teacher who works with children in Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade and Third Grade everyday.
My students or 'children', as I like to call them, enjoy learning in different hands on ways.
They love art (painting, drawing, crafts) activities they can put their own personal touch into. They are all learning and growing through their classroom teachers, and sometimes coming to my room gives them an opportunity to have somewhere special to go, just for them.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child's face when they have accomplished/reached a new skill. No matter how small the accomplishment, it is still just that, an accomplishment.
My Project
I am a teacher who fully supports the arts. I love turning my lessons into crafts, hands-on lessons, and using real-world manipulatives. My teacher friends call me 'Pinterest Teacher'!
Telling time, use your classrooms' round tables!
I love using my round tables to write numbers all around the edges (using dry erase markers). Make your minute and hour hands; I used old rulers. Let the kids make the time on the clocks! You introduce telling time and progress to elapsed time in word problems. This can be used with any age group.
I love finding card games, 'who has'. Usually 'Super Teacher Worksheets' has these type of card games for multiple subjects. (I have 3+2, who has ... .They have to figure it out (5)) These are awesome games that are educational but need to be laminated to be reused multiple times.
Dry erase markers can also be used when editing papers in sheet protectors. This is an easy way to keep your number of copies down. I like to let my older students write a paragraph and have their peers edit it. I also love to let my younger students practice their letter writing with the smaller dry erase markers, to help with fine motor skills.
Construction paper is an easy way to make 'Educational Foldable' to help meet individual learning needs and styles.
Any amount that you donate will be SO beneficial in helping my students learn through hands on experience. Thank you!
