This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Teaching requires materials to make the day to day lessons run successfully and oftentimes, those materials get paid for out of the teachers' pockets. In my school, many students don't have the resources to provide their own school supplies which means I am frequently replacing things or having to make due.
I am looking for materials to help students learn, create, and innovate so they never have to worry if they have the right supplies.
By providing the students with the basics, it makes learning less stressful and more accessible. When there's enough to go around, everyone benefits. My students love creating posters, comic books, board games, post cards, and other things to show their learning.
Additionally, students need materials to clean up and stay healthy. Tissues, hand wipes, hand sanitizer, and paper towels help keep our classroom running day to day. The goal is to have happy, healthy students with the supplies they need to learn in creative, hands on ways.
