My students need art supplies, paper, and other school supplies in order to participate in exciting hands-on projects in Language Arts.

My Students
"Oh no, come on Ms. Duncan!" These are the best words a teacher can hear as she tells her students they are done reading the class novel for the day. Hearing students cry out of frustration because they "can't wait to read what happens" next in a story brings joy to a teacher's ears. Our school serves students in grades six through eight and provides them an engaging and enlightening education to prepare them for their futures.
Many of our students are first-generation Americans or bilingual, who's parents and teachers work every day to ensure their children's success in school.
My students are filled with imagination, creativity, and a pure wonder about the world. Even with the sensitive nature of their age, they teach me daily about compassion for others. They approach their learning with a passion and dedication, and I strive as their teacher to provide them with every bit of assistance I can to better their future.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing us to incorporate more hands-on crafting and artistic projects in the classroom. Instead of just sticking to the traditional white worksheets and note-taking, we will be able to learn and create with wonderful projects.
I am always impressed by the imagination my students exemplify when I simply allow them time to create and add artistic spin to their work.
The markers, crayons, and glue will be used with our Interactive Notebooks. The paper will be used for several crafting and collage projects, which come to fruition during poetry activities. The manilla folders will be used for several activities, specifically Literature Circle folders and argumentative writing.
