My Students
It's that time of the year in first grade where we start to run low on basic every day supplies.
My students are a mixed group of amazing first graders.
They range in ability level from far below grade level to way above grade level. The students in my class attend a charter school, that works on educating the whole child with hands-on, interactive learning where we use the city as our classroom.
My Project
The resources that I'm asking for, will be used in many different ways. First graders at this time of the year are fighting all sorts of germs and so tissues are used constantly. Because of this, we run out of tissues very quickly! The rainbow leveled behavior chart that I use in my classroom uses clothespins and my students are doing so well with this system, that we've run out! We used colored and white index cards for a lot of different things in first grade-from words that go on our word wall, math facts and sight words and colored index cards are even better because they help make specific words and ideas stand out from the rest! In first grade we do a lot of hands-on, interactive work and when little hands get onto materials they bend and break. This is why I laminate almost everything my students touch-so that it will last for weeks, months and years to come! The laminating sheets will help my students have more materials to use!
