Help me give my students basic classroom materials that will help to encourage their learning, by supplying them with items like crayons, a pencil sharpener and paper, needed to complete their schoolwork.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing. They are sweet, thoughtful and eager to learn; each of them come with a unique set of gifts and abilities that bring such a wonderful diversity to the classroom.
Our school has a great relationship with the neighborhood in which it sits and spends a lot of time getting students involved in the community and preparing them for college, leadership and life.
Our school community has a high rate of Special Education students and English Language Learners, and the majority of our students come from low socio economic backgrounds.
With such a high population of Spanish speaking students and students with classroom support needs, encouragement in literacy and mathematical foundations are very important.
My Project
As our students transition into a new world of learning, we are doing our best to make sure that they feel supported, comfortable and safe. Many of our students and their families have run into hardships, and therefore cannot afford supplies for the school year. While attending school in person, and needing to be sure we keep our students safe, we want to be able to provide them with the necessary supplies so that they are able to be successful even in a time that is so uncertain.
Having basic classroom materials will help to encourage our students' learning, by supplying them with the items needed to complete their schoolwork.
Our students are incredibly creative and hardworking, and deserve nothing less than the absolute best. The students that I work with, have moderate to severe learning disabilities, and therefore often demonstrate understanding and mastery of skills through drawing, art and projects. We are asking for crayons, colored pencils, pencils, paper, glue and scissors so that they can have what they need right here in the classroom.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
