This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are halfway through the year, and it has been a whirlwind! I'm excited to see the growth and progress my students are making. Teaching in a Title I school, where almost all of my students come from low income families, can be challenging. They don't always have the basic classroom supplies needed, and either have to borrow from a friend or wait until supplies are available.

I would love to have these extra supplies available for them to use at any given time.

Color pencils, glue sticks, pens, construction paper, crayons, magnet squares (to hang our Vocabulary words on our Word Wall) and dry erase cloths are some basic supplies that are needed in a Reading/Language Arts classroom. The stickers, candy, and speaker (they “earn” music time) will be incentives to reward their hard work. The bowls are for when they need something to put their snack in. The Febreze (for our floor cushions) and dusters are to keep our room fresh and clean.

These supplies will be essential in helping my students be successful in finishing out the year.
