This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Nothing says "Back to school" like school supplies. Many of the students in our school community do not have the proper resources to participate in classroom activities. Items like notebooks, pencils, and folders are essential in any classroom. Without the resources to engage in math, reading, social studies, and science students are at a disadvantage. Having these basic items makes it possible for students to be prepared at all times of the learning day.
A lack of resources makes it difficult for students to be engaged and stay on track with the curriculum.
When we give students what they need to succeed, the responsibility of performing is now placed on them. I can vividly remember students doing assignments two or three times because they didn't have a notebook and eventually would lose the paper they originally wrote it on.
There's nothing like the basics to get you through an educational year!
