This book will help bring awareness to the abilities and disabilities of my students. It will help my students boost their confidence in their abilities and use their "disabilities" to their advantage. Fish in A Tree is a book that gives students hope by sending the message that "Great minds don't all think alike; if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." In addition, students will gain literary skills while reading a book that mirrors what they may experience as students with disabilities. This book's premise is based on the idea that individuality is what makes us great. We don't all learn the same way, but we all have the ability to learn.
