Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a Spanish teacher in two schools in Paterson, NJ. I have a total of 480 students ranging from kindergarten through 5th grade in one school and 6th grade through 8th grade in another school.
Many of my students do not have access to technology at home, but with your help, my students will have the opportunity be well prepared for this new century.
My students deserve the opporunity to use technology in their daily educational journey. This projector will broaden their classroom experience.
My Project
My students come from a low-income diverse community where students do not own many supplies. The lack of classroom materials limit their ability to learn this will create a competitive disadvantage with other students.
By having the right materials such as classroom supplies, textbooks, and technology in classrooms is a teacher dream.
My students will have the privilege to use supplies with your help.
My students will use the supplies to learn in class and use their knowledge to practice and speak Spanish.
This will facilitate social learning in which students will learn how to communicate in Spanish. The students will learn better because the proper material they do not have to worry about missing supplies.
For example, the folders and notebooks will promote vocabulary learning, sentence structure, and speaking in Spanish. Flash cards will promote many skills such as word building. My Kindergarten students will benefit by using the crayons and with the headphones students are able record themselves with the mic provided.
