My Students

My students are an awesome group of kids with Down Syndrome, Autism, and Moderate Cognitive disabilities. They were born with physical and developmental challenges. Despite the many challenges they face, my students continue to put forth extra effort with a huge smile daily. I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. They have different abilities, and lessons are differentiated to meet their needs. Most importantly, new activities will bring the students' great joy and build self esteem.

My Project

My students benefit from color visuals to communicate effectively, participate in class, and accurately use picture schedules. The gift of Velcro, ink and laminating paper will provide my students with all materials they will need to access a curriculum based on their individual needs.

Picture cards and individual schedules also reduce frustration levels and improve transition and behavior.

The gift of ink will allow me to print out study sheets, visuals and station work for my students. My students thrive when they have all the materials to meet their individual learning needs. To be able to print resources for them allows them to be happy, engaged, and active learners in the classroom.
