A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Do you remember walking in for your first day of school and not knowing what to expect? For the kids that I service that is a daily occurrence for them. I want to create a room that the students know that when they come in everything is their own and that they supplies were purchased for them.
The kids that the supplies are for are from a PA city school.
They are behind in school and are trying to catch up. The really want to learn but need an extra push to get moving. They just need a little more attention than your average student and then they need the concepts explain to them in another way.
My Project
When children are given the right supplies to learn they are more likely to want to learn. With these supplies I will be able to provide students with a complete resource pack for my classroom.
With the supplies like additional practice sheets and games the students will be given additional resources to help reinforce what we are covering in class. The students will also be able to see other ways of learning concepts.
Supplies like pencils, folders, paper, hands on manipulates to show them other ways of learning the concepts will help these students in class as well as in the future.
Children like to see that you believe in them and care about them.
By you providing them with some simple supplies like folders and pencils when they ask for them it can really make a difference in how they respond to you and your classroom.
I feel that every student should come to school and not worry about how they are going to get the supplies they need to be successful. It's unfortunate I am not always able to supply this by myself.
