My classroom is full of energetic 4th graders who are eager to learn new concepts. I teach in a Title I school so the majority of students are from low-income situations, which means that they come to school looking for stability and consistency. My students face many challenges at home, which is why I focus on creating a positive, safe, and inviting environment at school.
Every student that enters my classroom doors are eager to learn and have a desire to be successful lifelong learners.
When each student walks through my doors they are greeted by name and have the option of a Hug, Handshake, or High-five. The activities we do in the classroom are engaging and fun while they help strengthen our classroom environment.
My Project
Our classroom needs basic supplies to ensure that we can start off on the right path at the beginning of the year. The plastic dividers will be used in a 3 ring binder to help us stay organized. The rings will be used to help hold together flashcards that each student will be working on as they master their multiplication and division facts. The bins will be used to help organize my read aloud books and part of our classroom library that is always growing. The earbuds will be given to each child to help digital learning on their devices from being a distraction to others around them. The command hooks will be used to help hang earbuds in their cubbies to keep them from getting tangled.
I know that each student deserves to have what they need to be successful and feel like they belong.
These items will help level the playing field and give everyone a chance to have a successful year.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
