My students are a diverse group that blend together to help each other learn and be successful. At our school we strive to create a "family" where students from all different grade levels and personal backgrounds feel comfortable and confident in themselves, each other and their teachers. We strive to create a school where people feel valued as an individual and as a learner. Everyone has something to offer and everyone is an important part of the "family".
At our school our mantra is that we are " The best at getting better".
Which means we (students and staff alike) are always trying to grow as people and learners.
My Project
In the classroom my students need chart paper and graph paper to show mathematical thinking that can be presented and shared with the whole class, as well as other classes. In math class we explore and show understanding in various ways. Being able to have materials for the students to present their work is very important. In addition it is important for students to be able to keep track of and easily find assessments. Using the file folders labeled for each student, everyone will be able to find their folder, determine their current grade, or see if they missed a test and need to make it up. In addition the Post-It notes are used for various math activities as well as for me to provide student feedback and notes of inspiration. Lastly, the laminating film will be used in my classroom laminator to laminate student projects as well as student activities and activity cards. This allows them to be used from year to year. In addition students are always in need of pencils. I believe it would be very helpful to have extra pencils on hand. The donations will help the students become more organized and productive as they will have easy access to their materials.
