My students need markers and erasers to use individual whiteboards for review, practice, games, and lessons. We also need a new pencil sharpener and laminating pouches for activities. Lastly, our chairs need new feet too!
Our students are changing and so should the look of a classroom. When we create an environment that is fun, engaging, welcoming, and challenging, our students are given the opportunity to become something more than they were when they walked through the door. I am building a clasroom environment for my ever-changing students (freshman through seniors) where they can be safe and comfortable to learn. Our students are curious, fun, energetic, and driven. They need a place to feel inspired.
My Project
I am seeking help to get some rubber feet to go on the bottom of the chairs I was able to purchase through DonorsChoose.org last year.
We also are in need of new markers and erasers to use with new whiteboards I will be making this summer.
Individual whiteboards are an important tool to use in a classroom as it allows my students to use for review or review games, in small group sessions as well as in individual work with me. Students love being able to work with these and I have been using hand-me-downs for the past four years.
The laminating sheets will help me to create station activities for the students. I will be teaching Algebra 1 for the first time in seven years so I will be creating a lot of new activities for my students.
We also go through a pencil sharpener every year so this is a necessity in a math classroom.
