Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students include Special and Regular Education students who are eager to learn but this is difficult when the supplies they need are not available. I work in a low-income area with 90% of all students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Having the supplies my students need would provide them with the basics tools all children need to focus their energy on learning so they can succeed.

Our school's budget is limited by economic circumstances of the district and state. Every year the budget has been slashed to the point that the school doesn't have the funds to purchase basic supplies we need to help our students be successful.

My Project

With these supplies my students will be able to simply focus on academics and not whether they have basic materials to complete assignments. Having basic supplies would also prevent students' embarrassment because they lack the basic supplies. Last year we didn't have books in several core subject areas. Copies had to be made of all lessons purchased on line so each student would have access to learning and learning could continue beyond the classroom hours.

These supplies would be used as classroom resources for each student to share and manage.

Having classroom resources would help my students improve their executive and leadership skills. They would organize and manage effectively the allocation of all resources.
